Boutagy Fitness Institute Presents

The BFI Level One and Level Two Internships

Next Dates To Be Confirmed

The Boutagy Fitness Institute, Mosman (Sydney)

Evidence Informed Education For Personal Trainers

Learn the fundamental skill of writing intelligent training programs and keep your clients coming back year after year

Gyms these days are packed with many trainers who are trying to entertain their clients with fancy equipment and techniques. Just as many trainers deliver sloppy, lazy programs copied straight from the latest article they have read but are not in their client's best interest because they haven't mastered the fundamental skill of writing intelligent, effective workouts.

Clients don't want to be entertained. They spend money on a trainer because they want to get results.

The Boutagy Fitness Institute combines an evidence-informed, non-biased approach with practical hands-on application.

The two level internship system teaches you, firstly, how to take a client through assessments that result in delivering a goal-specific general preparation series of programs. Once mastered, students learn the science, theory and practice of writing effective body composition, muscle mass, strength and weight loss programs.

These courses are a must for any personal trainer who wishes to stand out in the crowd, further develop their skills and provide an evidence based approach for their clients which will keep them coming back year after year.

The courses have been running for over 15 years and are taught by Dr Tony Boutagy, who has conducted well in excess of 50,000 training sessions in his career as a coach along with being an educator of exercise professionals for the last two decades. Both the Level One and Level Two Internships include a strong practical component which is both enjoyable and challenging. These internships can be taken as stand alone courses, or as a bundle and are accredited with CEC's from Fitness Australia.

What you will learn at the Level 1

Programming for the General Preparation Phase

How to perform and teach correct exercise technique in all major lifting patterns (squat, deadlift, vertical push/pull, horizontal push/pull) as well as their precursors and smaller movements, such as for scapula & hip stability, the rotator cuff group and anterior/lateral and posterior core muscle groups.

Understand where a particular exercise fits in to a training program and how to progress a client from a basic movement pattern to an advanced movement safely and without injury.

How to assess a client’s basic movement patterns and identify abnormal movements, and then provide appropriate stretches to correct flexibility imbalances in an attempt to minimise risk of injury due to poor biomechanics during training sessions.

Write a series of programs showing progression of exercises tailored to the clients’ strength imbalances.

You will be taken through the testing and training process and have the opportunity to apply what you have learned under Tony's supervision throughout the day.

Walk away from the course with relevant tools that you can immediately apply with your own clients.

You will receive comprehensive course notes.

Upon completion of the BFI Level One, you will be awarded with 6 Fitness Australia CEC (continuing education credits).

"I wish every trainer was qualified through Boutagy Fitness Institute as it would raise the standard of the industry. My clients know that I have put a lot of thought into my programs and I have learned this structure and process from Tony. He has the best information by far of any course I have done over the past 15 years."

"I’ve been attending Tony’s lectures, workshops, Filex presentations and certification courses for many, many years. I think it’s fair to say that I have gained more knowledge from Tony than any other educator in the fitness industry. His style of delivery is humorous and easy to understand. His obvious passion and enthusiasm is truly infectious, so that I not only find the topics fascinating, but come away having reignited my own excitement for fitness. On top of that, Tony provides trainers with practical information and tools that can immediately be integrated into every day practice, all in the knowledge that his research is non-biased and based on the latest scientific evidence. I encourage every trainer who wishes to be at the top of their field to further their education and knowledge with Tony and the Boutagy Fitness Institute"

"There are no words to explain how much information and knowledge was shared. My experience has left me speechless because the amount that I learnt there could not be explained in this section. Cannot wait to apply everything learnt to my client and myself. The course material is also detailed very well. Thank you Tony. Much appreciated and I look forward to the next one."
